Hey, I wanted to ask you something.

I've been thinking a lot since we were able to talk to people from home.

I've never really been away from home before until now. Not for a really long time anyway. Not like this. I miss the people there, but...

[There's a small pause.]

I'm not sure if I want to go home. I don't mean staying on the Barge. I know that once I'm done here, I'm done. But just...staying in Mystic Falls? I don't know if I can go back to my life like that. I don't know if I can go back to the same people like that.

Does anyone else feel like that?

I always thought the whole "Jersey sucks" thing was just something they said on TV and in movies.

It's not bad in places. In others... [ He shrugs. ] The industrial sections have really gotten bad.

I don't see myself hanging out around there, but I'll keep it in mind.

If there happens to be a Gotham in your world, or the world you go to-- I can give you a few addresses. Place to go, people too talk to.

Since I'm dead at the bottom of the river, maybe giving me the proper fare for the trip into death will get me off this scow.

[ A morbid joke, but it's simply too Harvey to not be told. It has his dead, two coins, and a sick punchline. ]

[Elena doesn't laugh at the joke, not finding it particularly too funny. Dark humor isn't really her thing with her humanity back on. She smiles faintly, however.]

You'll get off the Barge sooner or later.

Suppose I will, one way or another.

[ He places no faith in graduation. But someday, he'll be allowed to die. ]

You will graduate. If I can possibly do it? You can, too.

And if I have no desire to do so?

Then you might not have found your reason to yet. But I don't know. I don't know what it will take for you to graduate and I can't pretend to possibly know. But I think you will find your reason someday.

You're not a bad person. You're not necessarily misguided either. Sometimes life just happens to people. And I think you're one of those people.

And if I don't want to, because Gotham is better with it's ex-DA in the ground? If my death takes out even one major player-- myself-- then isn't it better I stay dead?

[ He's thought about this a lot; thought long and hard, and always come to the same point. It's better for Gotham, for the people he used to love, if he dies and stays part of the city's bones. ]

I don't know about Gotham, but maybe you're better off not being in it. Not being dead, just not there.

I don't think it's a good idea. This isn't the first time we've been reformed. It doesn't stick.

Then maybe reformation isn't what you need. Maybe it's something else we just don't have a word for.

Maybe. I'm not holding my breath, though. Already drowned once.

It sounds like to me you could use with more space to breathe in anyways.

[ Two-Face snarls to the fore, frustrated. He grumbles and mutters as he comes back, but then speaks more clearly. ]

Don't listen to sadsack; he's good with cashing in his chips; I'm not. There's plenty to live for.

You can't blame him for not seeing that though.

[She's quiet for a moment.]

[ Two-Face snorts. ]

At first, I was pulled away from it kick and screaming. But then I found my own reasons not to see the world that way.

[ Two-Face wants to know; if Harvey's more stable, they can endure longer. ]

[ Something Harvey isn't sure he believes in and another that has burned him before. But he can't be unhappy for her. ]

Good for you, then.

[ It's not harsh; is as happy for her as he allows himself to be, which is pretty good. ]
